The TS80 Soldering Iron is the smaller brother of the hugely popular TS100. Like the original TS100, the TS80 is also a smart portable soldering iron, but with some new features and improvements.
Improvements over the TS100 include a redesigned casing. Now made of anodised aluminium rather than plastic, it also benefits from a more ergonomic grip that helps with soldering precision. Replacing the solder tips is even easier with the TS80 as it uses a 3.5 mm plug (similar to an audio jack) to connect the tips without any tools needed! Another change is how the TS80 is powered. The DC 5.5mm barrel jack has been replaced by a USB-C input, so it can be powered by any Quickcharge 3.0 USB charging plug or mobile power supplies that meet QC3.0 (9V 2A) standard making mobile soldering more convenient. Many users chose the TS100 because of its small form factor that provides great portability; the good news is the TS80 is even smaller so getting into tighter spaces with this iron even easier. Furthermore due to its low weight (only 36.5g) you can use it all day without fatigue.
As with the TS100, the TS80 has a STM32 microcontroller and utilises open source firmware, which can be upgraded and customised to suit your preferences by connecting it with a PC; you can do all sorts of clever things like creating your own temperatures curves. Other features that have remained the same are the OLED display, which lets you control the iron and see things like temperature status. Its built-in motion sensor also allows the iron to quickly change between stand-by mode and operating temperature, and also automatic power-off mode.
Despite the relatively low power of the TS80, 18W vs. 65W for the TS100, the soldering iron is very capable and performs for most applications just as well as the TS100. Through pure cooper heat conduction and an internal thermal ceramic heating core, it has excellent heat transfer to its tip so a little heat goes a long way.
This is the TS80 More Package so it comes with extras including a super soft silicone USB-C wire, a ground wire and a Quickcharge 3.0 USB power plug adapter (note it has a EU plug fitting).
Features:
Please note that TS100 Tips are not compatible with the TS80.

Retro Enthusiast
RetroSix is a family run business led by Luke, who has been in the gaming industry and retail business since 2013, and sold consoles, controllers and even designed our own controllers and consoles.
We repair and upgrade consoles while showing them off on our social channels such as TikTok.
We sell products for restoring your own consoles should you wish to do it yourself, including many of our own hardware we design and manufacture in-house.
Finally, we print directly onto products to create unique one-off designs of things like Game Boys, Game Gears and anything that has a relatively flat surface we can print on. Checkout our Printed Products sections to buy some or design your very own.
We started RetroSix not as a mass market business, instead with the aim of perfection. Recreating moulds of original shells, casting them from quality ABS, redesigning hardware such as power supplies, USB-C, audio and more, to upgrade your consoles to the highest quality available. No cheap junk sold for profit.
Partners
We believe partnering with other likeminded companies is a great way to help each other out and ultimately make products that are better for the end consumer.
Of course, we sell and ship worldwide direct from source if you would like to purchase direct from anywhere in the world.
