Got a Game Gear console you want to have restored and repaired? Then this service is for you.
Once you have placed your order, package it up, include a note with your order number, details and send us your console (without batteries) to the following address:
Six (RetroSix)
9D Millrise Road
Stoke on Trent
ST2 7BN
During the repair process we will inform you if any extra work needs doing, or extra parts are required for a repair and inform you of the cost before doing any additional work.
Majority of repairs can be done as part of the Standard Repair Service and do not require extra parts.
If extra work or parts are required we will contact you with the costs before proceeding.
If you do not require repairing then select "No Repair". This is useful if you only want upgrades and not specifically repairs.
If we already have the upgrades or modifications you like listed simply select those options. If you would like additional work carried out that is not listed, feel free to just contact us and we can give you a price.
We send the item back by the delivery method you specified during checkout.
Any questions or details contact us via email.
We take your original Game Gear and start by taking it apart fully. We clean the PCB, do a full recap on the power, audio and main board, replace any broken or worn components such as power regulator ICs or transistors, and do a full hardware test to confirm good working order is restored.
Often Game Gears original screens die even after repairing the main boards and recapping. If that is the case, we can offer a screen upgrade. It is highly recommended to have the backlit LCD screen upgrade as part of the service, otherwise even after repair you could be left with a Game Gear that starts playing games with sound but no screen.
The service includes repair of all common faults free of charge including:
Any issues that are outside of the standard repair can also be repaired. In which case we will contact you if we identify such issues and let you know the price of repair.
Next, we add your customized upgrades such as a new screen protector and upgraded screen.

Retro Enthusiast
RetroSix is a small team of people who have been in the gaming industry and retail business since 2013, and sold consoles, controllers and even designed our own controllers and consoles.
Putting that expertise to good use, we decided to start RetroSix; a small team of people passionate about retro gaming, and restoring original consoles to like-new, adding our own twist and style to them and in general bringing a modern twist to retro.
Experience the nostalgia without the limitations of old and outdated hardware.
So many things these days are mass produced, not designed to last, and make as cheap as possible for as much money as possible. We started RetroSix not as a mass market business, instead with the aim of perfection. Recreating moulds of original shells, casting them from quality ABS, redesigning hardware such as power supplies, USB-C, audio and more, to upgrade your consoles to the highest quality available. No cheap junk sold for profit.
All restoration work, modifications, improvements and so on are done in the UK, in-house by hand and all attention to detail and care is taken for every order. You can be assured that your order has been inspected not only by a real person but someone who knows about and is excited by gaming and retro, and no sub-par product leaves our doors.
