We remake old consoles
for the new age
In 2001, Nintendo delivered the next generation of portable entertainment into the hands of eager gamers. The Game Boy Advance gives you console-quality gaming in your pocket - and its bright, colourful and finger-intuitive design is still a classic.
Hand-restored to it's original condition, with a new shell, buttons, screen, boxed making the perfect gift for a die-hard gamer.
We take an original Game Boy Advance and start by taking it apart fully. We clean the PCB, replace any broken or worn components such as the Link connection, volume and power switches, and do a full hardware test to confirm good working order is restored.
Next, we replace the old, used and worn shell with a brand new cast ABS precision shell and buttons from RetroSix, along with the rubber contacts and buttons to restore that brand new button press feel.
Next the big upgrades. We change the LCD screen for a new CleanScreen backlit screen and upgrade the audio amplifier to a powerful class D amp as well as installing a new 1W speaker to give the audio a 400% volume boost, pure silence when volume is down, and hum and hiss audio noise removed for great clear and loud audio!
No more AA batteries, all Prestige consoles now come with a CleanJuice USB-C battery pack. The console is powered by a 6.2W lipo battery and charged using any USB-C cable.
The L & R are upgraded with Clicky Triggers for a better feedback.
Finally, we replace the plastic screen protector with a modern tougher glass screen protector so your old new console stays newer for longer.
The finishing touch is a boxed and sealed product perfect as a gift for any retro gamer... or maybe even treat yourself?
To turn on/off the LEDs if the console is an LED Edition, simply hold the Start and Select buttons together for a few seconds
We spent over a year developing the perfect GBA shell. Spending over £20,000 that we will never get back, in the name of perfection.
This shell is produced using ABS (from Japan), as oppose to all other shells on the market being made of cheap injection moulded plastics.
The fit, feel and tolerance on the RetroSix ABS shell is better than the original. The buttons are stronger with newer ABS and more accurate moulds than the original, the buttons and triggers are ultra-responsive, the plastic is much stronger and free of any detects like those you get on injection-moulded shells.
The front shell has an extra 0.6mm depth and no pillars in the way of installing new modern screens so no cutting is required.
Once you compare our shell with all the others on the market you will never look back!
RetroSix is a small team of people who have been in the gaming industry and retail business since 2013, and sold consoles, controllers and even designed our own controllers and consoles.
Putting that expertise to good use, we decided to start RetroSix; a small team of people passionate about retro gaming, and restoring original consoles to like-new, adding our own twist and style to them and in general bringing a modern twist to retro.
Experience the nostalgia without the limitations of old and outdated hardware.
So many things these days are mass produced, not designed to last, and make as cheap as possible for as much money as possible. We started RetroSix not as a mass market business, instead with the aim of perfection. Recreating moulds of original shells, casting them from quality ABS, redesigning hardware such as power supplies, USB-C, audio and more, to upgrade your consoles to the highest quality available. No cheap junk sold for profit.
All restoration work, modifications, improvements and so on are done in the UK, in-house by hand and all attention to detail and care is taken for every order. You can be assured that your order has been inspected not only by a real person but someone who knows about and is excited by gaming and retro, and no sub-par product leaves our doors.
We believe partnering with other likeminded companies is a great way to help each other out and ultimately make products that are better for the end consumer. Check them out at
